Angel White is a singer/songwriter from Dallas, Texas whose music blends R&B, Pop, and Western influences in a new and unprecedented way. Angel spent his formative years busking on the streets of Deep Ellum, learning the power of his voice and how it could touch the people around him. It was this approach to songwriting that spawned Angel’s new solo identity and thus his forthcoming album, GHOST OF THE WEST. Unlike most contemporary music, Angel’s music is not “wallpaper” or transparent: instead, his songs will take listeners to a specific place. For Angel; a western landscape is equally beautiful and dark in its vastness.
Ariana Ortiz and Mark (Fonzy) Lafon met almost 10 years ago at a Singer Songwriter’s night called, “Songwriter’s Anonymous” in Plano, Texas. Although funny enough, if you ask how long they’ve known each other, you’ll get nothing short of a different answer each time.
Both singer/songwriters in their own right, this dynamic duo decided to team up in 2021, successfully playing over two hundred and fifty, well-received shows each year since. Mark Lafon started guitar at the age of 4, honing in his skills over the last 4 decades. 300 records later, this accomplished and award winning musician decided to further his craft by shedding light on his vocals and songwriting skills. Ariana Ortiz knew from the age of 6 she wanted to be a singer. At the age of 16 she picked up a pen and begin her journey as a songwriter, adding guitar to her repertoire at 18. She has yet to put down her pen writing over 250 songs.
These storytellers, have combined their love for each other, their need for music, and their want for the road into an intertwined and entertaining live show.

Indie icon Ben Kweller has captured the hearts of fans and critics for nearly two decades. His schizophrenic approach to music-making and refusal to be pigeonholed has given him a career that rolls on regardless of fads and trends.
From releasing the legendary Sha Sha, hailed by critics as one of the greatest debut alt-rock albums of all time, to touring with everyone from The Strokes, to Bright Eyes to Ed Sheeran,, Kweller has cemented himself as a cultural mainstay. His latest release Circuit Boredom was released by Texas-based entertainment co-op The Noise Company to critical acclaim and millions of streams.
In February 2023, Kweller tragically lost one of his two sons in a freak car accident. Dorian Kweller was a budding artist who recorded and released music under his middle name, ZEV. He was only 16 when he passed. ZEV was scheduled to open for his father in the summer of ‘23, which would’ve been the artist’s first tour. In a true test of will and perseverance, Ben Kweller has made the decision to continue with his touring plans. “Lizzy (Kweller’s wife) and I are going through unimaginable darkness right now. There was so much on the horizon for our sweet Dorian. He lived and breathed music and I have to continue to make and create in his honor. Dorian touched so many people in his short life and I’m going to do what I can to keep his light shining bright.”
Kweller will be joined by “Texas piano man” Robert Ellis, Chris Mintz-Plasse (bass), and Ryan Dean (drums). Ellis will perform a solo set as main support and a ZEV video tribute will kick off each show.

Texas singer/songwriter Davin James possesses a deep, rich voice; virtuoso guitar chops; and a roving muse that runs the gamut from traditional country to rock to jazz inflections to distinct echoes of Cajun and Gulf Coast blues. Throughout his career, James has steadily built a reputation as a dynamic live showman.
He was born in Jackson, MS, and after stints in Louisiana and Arkansas, ended up in South Texas at the age of 12. James developed a love of country music from his dad, who passed on a taste for the likes of Merle Haggard, George Jones, and Bob Wills. James was especially influenced by Hank Williams Jr.'s "Whiskey Bent and Hellbound" because of its blending of various genres (an attribute for which James himself would become known). He debuted with the album Making My Mark in 1995, following that with Nowhere Lounge in 1999, and the delightfully versatile Magnolia in 2001. The title cut of the latter spent eight consecutive weeks on the Texas Music Chart.
Miranda Dawn and Chris Hawkes first met when he crossed an Austin barroom floor and asked her to dance. The first time they sang together they found a sound Texas Monthly calls “undeniably intimate".
Dawn, a performing singer-songwriter was hosting her own songwriter group showcases and literally set the stage for a fateful convergence of harmonies with Hawkes, a recording producer and touring artist who remembers “One night, after closing time, Miranda played one of her songs that instantly felt familiar so I picked up a guitar and played along.” Miranda Dawn admits “Our harmony just fell in and that was the moment we both felt that we should sing together–” She continues with more than a hint of genuine wonder “it was as if there was suddenly this third voice.”
In a time when the world seems more divided than ever, their songs express hope and finding our common humanity. “While on our own adventures of ups and downs we found ourselves exploring themes of empathizing with the other side,” recounts Miranda Dawn. “We hope that you will hear this album and share it with someone you love, because these are anthems of compassion for everyone who's ever felt on 'The Other Side.'”
The Granbury native grew up a rabid fan of the regional Red Dirt country sound. Going to shows at venues like the aforementioned MMLand the old Live Oak was a revelation for him. Seeing bands like Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights somehow brought professional musicians closer to him and other “mere mortals” from his previous concept of the rock star selling out stadiums.
“There was something really cool about getting out to Fort Worth and seeing live music that made it somehow seem not so out of reach,” he said. “Something about seeing these badass musicians didn’t seem otherworldly. You’re never gonna be John Mayer, but in the back of my mind — not that I ever told anyone — I thought, ‘Maybe I could do this.’ ”
UK native Fonteyn spent her formative years pursuing Musical Theatre and acting in England, but it wasn’t until she started making music that she felt able to express herself authentically. Writing songs provided a home for her idiosyncrasies to coexist. Bewitched by the sound of the 70’s, Fonteyn draws from her musical idols, Carole King, Todd Rundgren and Paul McCartney,to name a few. Her debut album “Trip the Light Fantastic” offers music centered around rainbow chords and melody. The songs are playful, sentimental, and offer a sense of the theatrical. Fonteyn wants to take you by the hand and sweep you into another time and place. “Trip the Light Fantastic” is an introduction to Fonteyn’s songwriting and musical soundscape. Drawing from a rainbow of influences in 1970’s pop, the album is a hedonistic exploration of melody with each song in pursuit of a particular musical feeling.
Rock juggernaut Futurebirds' newest EP, Bloomin' Too, is a benchmark that not only celebrates 13 years together, it's also a testament to the sheer iron will of a group of musicians hungry for the fruits of its labor.
"Futurebirds is the best it's been right now, far and away," says singer/guitarist Carter King. "We've been unintentionally carving out our own space since the beginning, since we never exactly fit in anywhere else musically. We were always too indie rock for the jam festival, too country for the indie scene, a little too psych-rock to feel like we were Americana. The music over the years just kind of created its own weird little ecosystem — it's thriving and it feels great."
The Athens, Georgia-based group once again tapped storied My Morning Jacket guitarist/producer Carl Broemel in the latest chapter of this seamless, bountiful partnership that initially came to fruition with the 2021 EP, Bloomin.'
"Carl is extremely perceptive and an all-around smart dude. He's really in tune with what the band is and what it strives to be. He's engaged and understands our vision," King says. "He's a longtime hero of ours, and now is a friend and collaborator. It's wild. And it's great to be able to defer to someone you respect so much with creative decisions in the studio — we don't just give that trust to just anybody."
Captured this past spring at the legendary Ronnie's Place in Nashville, Tennessee, the seven-song Bloomin' Too is a vortex of sonic textures. The album ricochets from cosmic space, rock to rough around the edges, alt-country dreamscapes, sandy beach bum odes to kick in your step pop ballads — all signature tones and musical avenues at the core of the Birds' wide musical palette.
"This is probably the quickest turnaround we've ever had for a record — we felt confident right when we got into the studio and just cranked it out," says singer/guitarist Daniel Womack. "All of our frequencies are aligned as a band, where we've got this free-flow of ideas happening. We're all on the same page right now and we have a lot of momentum going."
For Broemel, he finds a sincere kinship and solidarity with Futurebirds. Witnessing first-hand the band's blue-collar work ethic in the studio, Broemel was impressed and inspired by the 'Birds' democratic ways and means in how music is created and cultivated in the studio.
"Futurebirds have this unique vibe with three singer-songwriters in the band, where everyone is constantly shifting their function depending on the song," Broemel says. "Everyone just kind of falls into place and finds something to contribute. Someone will lead the charge on one song, then fall back and let another take charge on the next — it's something rare to see and behold in rock music, where normally there's just one songwriter and one leader."
That camaraderie between founding members King, Womack, singer/guitarist Thomas Johnson and bassist Brannen Miles began when they were college students at the University of Georgia. In recent years, the quartet has added pedal steel player Kiffy Myers, keyboardist Spencer Thomas and drummer Tom Myers.
"It's the best feeling in the world to be up there onstage, to look across and see these other super talented dudes all stoked to be there," King says. "We're brothers and family and all that, but what's truly most impressive is that we've remained good friends on top of that. At the end of the day, for us, it's always been about having a good time. That's what keeps this thing moving."
From there, it's been endless miles on that old lost highway. It's this rollercoaster of emotions, thoughts and actions — gig after gig, year after year — where now the band will be making its debut at Red Rocks Amphitheatre for a highly-anticipated two-night run (Oct. 3-4) alongside indie-rock darlings Caamp.
"It was pure elation when we were offered Red Rocks," Womack says. "Everything we've been working towards has always included being able to play Red Rocks someday — it's a big win for us and such a gratifying feeling."
And though Futurebirds have offered up another instant classic release with Bloomin' Too, the foundation of the group's ethos, attitude, and rabid fan base remains its live shows — these undulating waves of sound, energy and passion spilling out onto the audience in this two-way street of respect and admiration.
"The line between the stage and the audience has always been blurred, and we've definitely carried ourselves that way since the beginning," Womack says. "The early days of rock-n-roll were about the mysticism surrounding musicians and bands. That's never been us. We want to embrace our fans, to actually hang out and get to know them — they're all part of the BirdFam.'"
Reflecting on the last 13 years, King can only shake his head in awe of what has transpired over that time period for Futurebirds, personally and professionally. From playing empty dive bars to selling out theaters coast to coast, from college kids to now husbands and fathers — the sacred flame of music, creativity and performance continually cradling and nurturing deeply-held dreams.
"You start out doing this solely because it's fun and you have no preconceived notion of what's going to happen or what it should be. And then, you get a taste of this possibly being your actual life," King says. "Maybe you get too serious about it, or too wrapped up in how you are being received, or the industry watermarks of success. But, life's just a perception game. It's about having fun and aligning yourself with the right people. The community that's built up around us has made it real easy to peel back all that brush and noise and see this thing for what it really is."

Jordan Nix developed a love for meaningful words as a child in Buffalo, Texas. Coming from a family full of gospel musicians, performers, and songwriters, it’s no wonder he found his way to the stage as well.
His songs take many forms from acoustic renditions to those reminiscent of the late 80s, but you can always tell when you’ve stumbled upon a Jordan Nix tune. His signature way of playing guitar and the enduring hopefulness in even his most heartbreaking lyrics are woven through every project he puts out.
Jordan’s naturally draws audiences into his live performances through a powerful combination of gospel soul and irreplaceable life experiences, both of which come through in his voice and stage presence.

Well-versed in the art of puns and guitar-shredding, Kate Cosentino’s music is something of jazzy sleekness atop the lyrical precision of witty slam poetry. Whether you saw her rock the stage as a part of Niall Horan's team for Season 23 of The Voice or saw one of her many goofy social media posts, Cosentino's fun-loving personality, unique sense of style, and witty songwriting shine through in everything she does.
The Nashville-based singer’s discography is aflush with lyrical quippings that indulge in clever wordplay and poignance in the same breath. Songs like "Prettiest Girl in the Room", "Did I?" and “Imposter Syndrome” deal with struggles in a dark world, but Cosentino doesn’t shy away. If anything, her music lets the light in. Donning her personal sound with the fitting description of “Regina Spektor and Norah Jones meeting a Charlie Puth bassline,” Cosentino’s genre-bending style coupled with her authentic storytelling talent make for consistently compelling works of art. Her EP Note to Self was released in May of 2022 and received praise from several outlets including Rolling Stone India. It’s an upbeat homage to her college days covering romantic escapades, identity crises, and struggles with body image. The Kansas City-born star continues to write and release original music while performing all over the United States. You can find her music on all streaming platforms as well as one original song in the books and products for American Girl Doll Tenney Grant.

In today’s country, it’s not uncommon for artists to veer from one “lane” to another, adopting a new sound and style as trends change. But there’s a growing movement within the genre suffering no such identity crisis, and there you’ll find Kylie Frey.
Born and raised as country as it gets, Frey is a third-generation rodeo girl and Louisiana state goat- tying champion – and a rising star as genuine as her blue jeans. Sincere in her convictions and too real to dismiss, even for ardent country haters, her sound both typifies and transcends the genre. Larry Joe Taylor started out in the early 70’s no different than many of his fans today: A full-time employee with a deep love of music, armed with only an old guitar and a dream. Influenced by the songs of Guy Clark, Jerry Jeff Walker, The Doors and Bob Dylan, Taylor writes songs that form his own genre he likes to call “Coastal & Western”. The varied moods of Taylor’s songs keep the crowds on their toes while he shifts from his loud-and-proud dancing tunes to soulful ballads.
Some 40 years later, Taylor finds himself right in the middle of the biggest dream of his life; to not only be a respected songwriter in his own right, but also having the opportunity to present songwriters and music he respects on one of the biggest stages in the U.S…the Larry Joe Taylor Texas Music Festival, which is preparing for its 31st year anniversary, drawing crowds of 65,000 plus. Jerry Jeff Walker stated, "Larry Joe Taylor is the Jimmy Buffett of Texas. He's learned to survive by grinding it out, doing whatever it takes to keep himself viable through cruises, festivals like the Texas Music Festival, connecting with his fans and working his ass off.” Josh Abbott, friend and fellow songwriter/performer states “[Taylor] is a believer in not only Texas country, but helping out the younger guys. He's comfortable in his style of music and it sure is fun to sing along with his songs!”
The Texas country music scene continues to produce up and coming singer/songwriters, and Lawson Harris is no exception. After rodeoing for two years at Weatherford College, Lawson moved to College Station, Texas and decided he wanted to pursue a musical career full-time. After a short time in the Brazos Valley, he developed a strong following and began playing shows all around Texas, but he wanted more.
Lawson moved to Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 20. He began writing songs and playing with some of the industry’s best around Music City.
Lawson prides himself on staying true to his Texas rodeo roots, and it shows in his music. Being only 25 years old, Lawson is just beginning his exciting career in country music.

Lucas Jagneaux & The Roadshow. The name’s pronounced Jag-no. Emerging from the woods of Northwest Louisiana, these boys have something to say and won’t stop till you hear it. And when you hear it, you’ll understand.
Lucas was as young as 3 when he began his entertainment career. At family gatherings, story has it that he used his great grandmother’s walking cane, as a microphone. He and younger brother Tobin were enveloped in family-style picking, singing and an all around love for country music. The deep family roots and love for music, ultimately bled over into their adult lives as they formed a band of their own in 2011. Joined by lifelong friend, Bates Bell on the Bass Guitar, who comes from an equally talented and rich musical stock, and Waylon Salter on the Pedal Steel— a mutual friend and multi instrumentalist with a resumé a mile long— the band crafted and honed a wall of sound, untouched by other four piece bands.
Even though they hail from the bayou state, Lucas was named 2019’s Texas Music Picker’s Songwriter winner. Immediately following, they dropped their lead off single, “New School” that was featured on Spotify’s Texas Music Now, where it amassed over 400K streams. Following the single were songs like “Broken Bow” — a comically true story of underage drinking gone wrong, you can feel the heartbreak in “Falls Like Rain”, and their single “The Worst Thing About Texas” is sure to pull your heart strings and make you love being from Texas, even if you’re not.
The Roadshow recently dropped their newest project, the “Honky Tonk Heart EP”. Saturated with pedal steel guitar, fiddle and some one line melodies on a telecaster— it’s everything you loved about old country music, repackaged for the modern listener.
You can follow Lucas and The Roadshow on all social platforms. But be on the lookout for the cloud of dust rolling through your town. Welcome to the sheaux.
Marcy Grace is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter from Texas bringing fresh and new ideas to the Texas Country market. She is known for her big and unique voice with a country-rock flare. This Texas girl has been playing music for most of her life and is a multi-instrumentalist playing drums, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and banjo. When legendary honky-tonk band Eleven Hundred Springs played its final notes near the end of 2021, it understandably felt like an ending to many of its loyal fans. Over the course of 23 years the group played countless shows around the world, released over a dozen albums, and had become the standard for what a swingin' Texas country band should be. But for lead singer-songwriter Matt Hillyer, the ending of his beloved band wasn't the closing of his own musical road.
Hillyer's life in music began well before Eleven Hundred Springs was born. He honed his chops in the rockabilly outfit Lone Star Trio, and even a rock band, Strap, hitting the stages of Dallas' storied Deep Ellum neighborhood throughout the '90s. In 2014 he released his solo debut album If These Old Bones Could Talk, a stellar effort that served as a reminder to fans that Hillyer had more to say than what could be found on Eleven Hundred Springs releases. With Glorieta, Hillyer doesn't begin a post-1100 life as much as he continues the dance he began decades ago. It's really that simple.
"To stop writing, recording and performing songs has never been the plan. I'm a songwriter, so that's what I'm going to keep doing," Hillyer says.
Though a Parker County native, Matt Tedder has long called Fort Worth home. Of course, home is rarely where any musician lays his head and Matt has been fortunate at 27 to have experiences over the last thirteen years from street corners to main stages at international festivals.
Those adventures are finding fruit in a forthcoming album from producer Gordy Quist of Band of Heathens infamy. Keep an eye and ear out for its release in 2023.
Country roots were ever present as those of a post oak, but blues called him out at a young age and the road home was long.
Lauded as a guitar man since he was a boy, Tedder now feeds his true calling as a honkytonk wordsmith. He’s capable of laying down embraceable turn of phrase inside everything from a hot Austin boogie to a post-war waltz. Then he’ll light up your lava lamp with a psychedelic romp suitable for a desert run with the windows down. Of course, those blues are always close at hand & he can slide ‘em into a set seamlessly…
The voice is immediately recognizable due to quick web searches finding national television appearances long before he actually found his.
And this voice carries a comforting Texas twang that’s like no other, clearly infused with childhood memories of the haunting sounds of Hank & Merle.
Everybody does a lil’ time in Nashville then makes parole & goes home, Willie in ‘72 and Tedder at just twenty after a hard three year ride. He did his time & don’t plan on reoffendin’, Fort Worth & Austin are a better fit. But regardless of where he finds himself, you can bet he’ll give ya one hell of a show. Y’all get ready…
Mel, born and raised in Fort Worth, is a fifth generation Texan. From a young age, Mel showed a great interest in music, banging away on his toy piano and pretty much anything else he could use to make noise. When COVID hit, he had a simple request, he wanted a gaming system. Instead, his folks bought him a guitar. It was from there, with many hours on YouTube videos, he really dove into honing his craft. Self-taught, he spent countless hours practicing, singing, and learning the finer nuances of his favorite pastime. Focusing primarily on Country and Singer/Songwriter genres. At the age of twelve, Mel began playing gigs around town, growing to playing more than 150 gigs around Texas and Nashville during the calendar year 2023. Today, you can catch him playing gigs around Texas and Tennessee, from local bars and honky tonks to festivals and farmers markets.
Mike Ryan’s musical story began in the Lone Star state, his first eXposure to music was from his grandfather, who directed the Texas National Guard Band for over 30 years. He became one of Ryan’s biggest musical influences, first learning the clarinet from him – among other instruments.
“I found out after one short lesson with my grandfather that there was way more to this music thing than I had ever realized before. My grandfather was able to make people fall in love with music in a way that no one else could. I was very grateful for that growing up.”
From there, Ryan taught himself how to play the guitar – though he admits he had to learn the art of patience. “I didn’t have lessons or anything. I just had some eXtra time on my hands when I finished high school football, so I picked up a guitar and hit the ground running.” Needless to say, he was hooked.
“The way I learned was mostly by listening to the radio to figure out chords. I would lock myself in a room and play for hours. I would play my G, C, D, and if it didn’t sound right, I would just move the capo up, until I figured out the right chord. I taught myself how to play the way that it worked for me. Maybe learning from other people could’ve made certain things easier, but I think learning it my way might’ve helped make it stick. I think sometimes if you learn things on your own, you learn them better.”
Besides the hit records, Ryan’s resume also includes winning New Male Vocalist of the Year at the TeXas Regional Radio Awards in 2015. The list of sold-out venues he’s played around the country continues to grow. He’s also headlined several times at Billy Bob’s Texas an iconic nightclub in Fort Worth, admitting that it’s a special place.
“Growing up in San Antonio, I really didn’t hear that much about it. It wasn’t until I moved up to North TeXas that I started seeing all these bands I loved coming through there. It’s so huge. It seems like the kind of place that even if folks aren’t too familiar with the band that is playing, they go there because it’s Billy Bob’s. They have a good time there, and it’s a good family atmosphere. You can bring the kids. That’s a little bit different than other venues that you don’t get to see that often. To see the looks on some of these little kids’ faces, when you walk by them – and they get this wide-eyed stare because they think you’re some kind of famous person, it such a cool vibe all the way around. It’s a great place – aside from the historical significance of it. It’s just a great place to play because of the people that show up and the energy and the electricity that eXists in the building.”
Billy Bob’s proved to be a critical spot in the career of Mike Ryan – without him even being there. Renowned songwriter and producer Chris DuBois, who co-founded Sea Gayle Music Publishing in Nashville, said it was at the “World’s Largest Honky Tonk” that he first became aware of Mike and his music in 2013.
“We had two of our artists playing there on back-to-back nights,” says DuBois. “I was hanging out back in the green room, and I ran into Robert Gallagher, who had been the backstage manager at Billy Bob’s for years. We sat and talked a little bit, then the neXt night, he came back and said ‘I’ve got a CD I want to give you. I see a lot of artists pass through here, but this guy has something special. I stuck it in my pocket, and brought it back with me to Nashville. I get a lot of CD’s, and with all due respect to Robert, my eXpectations were not super-high. But, when I put the CD in my jeep, I thought ‘This guy is really good.’ So, we set up a meeting the neXt time he was in Nashville.” DuBois offered Mike a publishing deal with Sea Gayle right there on the spot.
With the number of discs that DuBois receives in an average week, what was it about Mike Ryan? DuBois says, “I’ve been in this business for going on twenty-five years, and when you hear something that is different, you can’t describe what it is that strikes a chord in you. You can just tell. He just had that thing in his voice that made him great. I just heard that special quality, and he had written all the songs on that first CD. That said to me that he had skills as a writer.”
With the release of his newest single, “Damn Good Goodbye”, Ryan is hoping to make more music that his Texas audience loves, but he also wants to take his music all the way around the world. “I consider myself very fortunate to have the support from TeXans that we do. We’ve actually been playing in the surrounding states for the past couple of years, and we’re getting further and further away from home all the time. I just want to keep making music that I am proud of and that I believe in. Texas has a lot of great fans, and I know the rest of the United States does as well. I’m ready to take it to them!”

Nick's music is a reflection of his life and his experiences. He's a storyteller and a poet. He's a musician and a songwriter. He's a gypsy and a homebody. He's a lot of things, but most of all, he's a musician.
Music is the driving force for Nick. Nick not only writes and performs his own songs but also plays along side Presley Haile and plays the bass for Race Ricketts.
Nick was the 2021 winner of the Larry Joe Taylor Songwriter Showcase and has a new album called “Circus” coming out in March of 2024.
Nik Parr’s original music is a high-energy piano-driven rock n’ roll endeavor with strong soul, funk and blues influences. Parr’s band is built around his piano playing and singing, with an ear for catchy, danceable and widely appealing new songs. The show is made even more unique, as Nik switches seamlessly from the saxophone to the piano in between singing, working the crowd, and directing his band.
For five years, Nik Parr toured with his full band under the name The Selfless Lovers. The group performed well over one-hundred shows per year. At first, these shows spanned Texas, with concerts everywhere from Lubbock and Amarillo to South Padre, Corpus Christi, San Antonio and of course, Austin. As the band progressed, they played out of state, with performances in Oklahoma, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Florida and Georgia in addition to their regular Texas touring.
The group’s current roster includes longtime drummer Daniel Warner, lead guitarist Keegan Flynn, bassist Evan Durr and guitarist Mishaun Bhakta. The band’s newest album “When TheBars Close,” showcases bassist Augie Gmitter in addition to backing vocals by Kelly Khun and Tory Niemann.
A kid from the West, Palmer grew up playing baseball, football and basketball and spent his summers pouring concrete. At the age of 14 he picked up the guitar and began self-teaching himself country songs he had heard around the house from his dad's cassette player; however only to a recreational degree.
Upon graduating high school he entered college at the University of California, Santa Barbara to play baseball and there, in the bustling beach community, began to find comfort again in the genre of Country Music; as it reminded him of home.
Palmer began writing his own lyrics in his first year of college and soon fell in love with the craft of songwriting. So much so that after a solo trip to Lubbock, TX and soon after to Nashville, TN in his second year of college, he decided that's what he wanted to do.
After graduating in two and a half years, Palmer packed his bags in April of 2017 and headed back to Fort Worth to try his hand at the Country Music industry.
Since then his music has garnered over 3 million streams on Spotify and Apple Music. Palmer and his band have toured all over the country, playing over 100 full band shows opening for the likes of Eli Young Band, Randall King and Chase Rice in 2022 alone. Whiskey Riff has labeled the Fort Worth based singer-songwriter as “one of the new names you need to know” on the Texas Country / Red Dirt scene.
Parker Ryan is whoever he wants to be. With a background as varied as his music, after growing up with time spent between Huntington, Texas and the beach town bars of Galveston, he has forged his own way in the Texas scene.
Parker plays like a veteran despite his youth, giving you the impression he’s been on the road for years. His guitar tones are harsh, rock and roll, but many of his lyrics are sweet and reflective, proving there is something for everyone at a Parker Ryan show.
Whether he’s playing acoustic or running his signature three-piece band, you feel like you’re riding the jagged edge that runs through his performance.
“Honky-Grass” is Phineus Reb’s unique sound of Jazzy/Bluegrass/Rockin/Honky-Tonk blend of music. A mixture of rocking guitars, harmonica, banjo, fiddle and killer harmony vocals make for a fun, foot-stomping blend of East Texas Tonkin Tunes with a bluegrass flavor. PHINEUS REB came to be in December of 2014 out of Crosby, TX when Cody Kouba & the boys put their amplifiers/ heads together and breathed the “REB” to life.
An aspiring singer/songwriter from Hamilton, Texas, Presley Haile is making her presence known in the Texas Music Scene.
In her early years, she participated in church and school choir. She then began performing alongside her older brother while he played guitar and sang. When her brother signed up for the military, he inspired her to pick up the guitar and pursue a career in music, which ultimately led to her interest in writing her own songs.
“Taking the Texas Music Scene by storm with her unique sound & strong writing, Presley Haile is not the artist you want to sleep on!” — Shayne Holinger - Program Director, KFWR 95.9 The Ranch in Ft. Worth TX.

Shaker Hymns is a 40 hour work week before one note of music is played. A band rooted in real life, rather than the glamor of an industry plagued with false hope. Shaker Hymns are songs. Not how you’ve heard them before or what you may be used to, but instead, an ode to the working man. What sounds like songs belonging to a sacred belief, or a way of life, is just that. Movers, shakers, all out hustlers, Shaker Hymns are the “songs of the working man.”
Starting in 2015 by frontman Nyles Robakiewicz alongside drummer Julian Emerson, and Dillon Schmadl, Shaker Hymns set their sights not on world fame, but hard work. Meeting at a Levi’s jeans outlet, Nyles and Julian began conversations about Merle Haggard, Metallica, Slipknot, The Rolling Stones, and music that stood for something. With no other players, both decided music wasn’t a job, or a hobby, it was a way of life. It wasn’t long before long time friend, Dillon Schmadl became the de-facto bass player. That’s the way these things work, not because we want them to, but because they have to. Shaker Hymns is a life.
Some careers can be described with a couple of words, but Shawn Camp's isn't one of them. Shelby Stone is the epitome of the scene that her music was born into. When you see her, you feel a little nostalgic for the attitude of old school rock and roll, and when you hear her, you picture smoke-cover walls in a whiskey-soaked town.
Calling Fort Worth home, Shelby ventured out into the Forth Worth Stockyards in 2020 clad in black leather and a chip on her shoulder. She stood her ground, quickly becoming a fan-favorite. Her debut single “Each Other” was charting on 95.9 The Ranch before it was even released, and in the weeks since has only continued to climb.
Shelby is, in all aspects of her life, an artist, a performer, and a fighter. You can see it in the way she takes over every stage she’s on, and you can hear it in the hard-hitting, emotional rasp of her powerhouse vocals.
Shinyribs defies genres as a sonic melting pot of Texas Blues, New Orleans R&B funk, horn- driven Memphis Soul, country twang, border music, big band swing, and roots-rock.
The Austin-based nine-piece (sometimes 10-piece) supergroup is led by Kevin Russell, the charismatic frontman with colorful suits and extravagant shoes who continuously swaps out an electric guitar for a ukulele and never falls short of creating a cinematic experience with on- stage antics that often include him donning a light-up cloak or leading a conga line through the crowd.

With the release of his 2020 debut EP Here We Go Again, Slade quickly began garnering a large following of fans throughout the state. Between his high energy live shows, impactful lyrics, and one of a kind voice…
Slade Coulter is quickly becoming a household name among Country and Americana Music.

Terry Rasor is from Fort Worth, Texas. He began playing music on the guitar and mandolin at age nine and was performing at only fourteen, singing and playing mandolin in the award winning bluegrass ensemble, 'The Sunset Harmony Boys'. Terry was a founding member of 'Trinity,' an acoustic four piece including Michael Anderson (Blu Lite, SHBoys, Roanoke & Country Gazette), Jimi Shaw (Blu Lite), & Coy Rhine (latter SHBoys) doing their part in helping usher in that west coast progressive country rock sound in the very early seventies! The Singer/Songwriter began honing his craft on a solo path in the coming years and in '88 he formed country rockers 'Over The Edge', November '90 he recorded and published his first album 'Terry Rasor & Over The Edge LIVE at Caravan of Dreams'. He was named 'Specialty Band of the Year' in '90 and 'Songwriter of the Year' in '91 by the MCMA, and for some time now he's been actively involved in the Texas music scene and a strong voice for independent singers, songwriters and musicians promoting his annual three day 'Raz On The Braz' music festival for twenty years and fifteen plus years with his weekly anchor 'Raz n Freindz' song swap. Terry and his band have been through several changes, but the raw-gritty-straight ahead sound coupled with his incredibly soulful lyrics and melodies have held true through it all. Terry plays over 100 live performances a year and his discography includes the '98 release of 'Takin Ransom', a chest full of self penned songs that includes two songs written by producer and legendary Texas rocker John Nitzinger. Successfully touring Europe twice, Terry is particularly fond of the black forest of Germany, where he was deemed "dark and mysterious" in a Neckerburg radio interview. His second CD, titled 'Texas Hi-Way Troubador' debuted in 2001 and received extensive airplay in Germany, Sweden and Austrailia. Terry returned from his second European tour with a fire in his belly and the appetite for an entirely new cache of songs, 'Write It Down' is all original and was released at Terrys annual musicfest and campout in August of '03. His release 'LIVE at Tommy Alversons Family Gathering' was recorded at Tres Rios River Ranch in October of '05 at Family Gathering 8.
The long awaited 'A Lonesome Sound' was recorded at Patrick McGuires Recording in 2011/12 and was released at the infamous White Elephant Saloon in the Fort Worth stockyards in March of that same year to a very enthusiastic crowd of family, friends and fans! Then came the release of Terry Rasor 'LIVE' at Poor David's Pub... a little BW, a little Fromholz and a whole lotta Raz..., recorded Sept. of 2014 at Poor David's in Dallas, an intimate acoustic Raz Trio set...
Terry is also proud and very honored to be an original 'Geezer' along with Amos Staggs and Tommy Alverson and is the first recipient of the coveted Steven Fromholz Singer/Songwriter Award! In the past few years Terry has released his latest album 'On Fire' and is currently in the studio working on a family/spiritual album with songs he and his dad had played together as well!
More than five decades have passed since his first audience and Terry has been blessed to have befriended and shared the stage with many well established Texas artists! So be sure and check his schedule for an upcoming show near you and see what all the Raz is about! You'll be glad you did!

For The Nude Party, nearly a decade has flown by in the blink of an eye. In that time, the New York-based band has released a pair of well-received albums, an EP, and played countless shows. Prior to the pandemic, the band was really starting to hit its stride. They had a system in place and were spreading their brand of melodic rock to the masses. In fact, they could count Jack White, Arctic Monkeys, and Orville Peck as vocal supporters, which led to support slots for each. Soon, incredible live appearances at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Newport Folk Festival, and Shaky Knees became the norm.
Over the course of the last two years, The Nude Party decided to produce their new album, Rides On, themselves. With the help of Matthew Horner, The Nude Party had as much fun creating as they ever had at any other point in their career. Their new album includes 14 songs that dabble in electro-pop and stripped-down country. The Nude Party coalesced and embraced the spirit of collaboration. They're excited to begin the next chapter of their career.
At a time when it would have been easy to pack it in, the band continues to persevere.

Formed in the small town of Greenville, Texas, The Weathered Souls are foraging the path of modern day Rock and Roll, meshing the classic rock vibe with heavier, electric elements. Over many studio sessions, The Weathered Souls connected on their love of classic and pure rock bands such as AC/DC, but have enjoyed bringing their youthful twist and energy into this perennial, and ‘weathered’ genre.
Even though the band is new on the scene, they have secured high profile shows opening for Whiskey Myers, Read Southall Band and Goodbye June. The band is currently writing and recording their debut album that will continue pushing the boundary of their sound and demonstrate their focus on musical diversity that brings a distinct, rousing twist of Texas country and southern rock.
Born and raised in the Bama clay, these boys are as southern as they come. Taught how to bend a string and break a heart by Skynyrd and Hank, brothers James and Frank Ford along with their hometown friends Andrew Davis and Ben Crain formed the southern rock band known as Them Dirty Roses.
Piling into an RV with their belongings, their instruments, and all the whiskey they could carry (in the cooler), they made their way from Gadsden, AL to Nashville, TN. All living all under one roof, Them Dirty Roses are a living example of the quintessential rock and roll American Dream. Their live show calls for a shot of whiskey and a 2 for 1 special -- BUT what that really means is you better be ready to throw back 12 for 6 and shake it with Them Dirty Roses.

In a career spanning 15 years, Morgan has released five studio albums and a live recording from hishometown of Flint, Michigan. Additionally, he has toured relentlessly averaging over 125 shows annually.Rolling Stone has described him as a "Waylon Jennings acolyte.. modern day outlaw [with a] hard hittingblue-collar brand of music" while NPR Music hailed, "Staying close to the sound and subject matter ofclassic outlaw artists like Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard and David Allan Coe, Morgan is poised to leadthis hand-worn brand of country to the next generation." His most recent LP, Sonic Ranch (2015), wasreleased to critical acclaim and praised by Detroit Free Press as, "a bold well-crafted album that doesn'tforsake the gritty undercurrent running through Morgan's stuff."
Whitey Morgan and the 78's anticipated new album, self-produced by Morgan, was recorded in the NeveRoom at famed Sonic Ranch Studios in Tornillo, Texas. Of the recording, Morgan shares, "It's not like my vision happened overnight. I've been chipping away at itforever. It's slowly evolving and it's going in a little bit different direction. It's not so straightforwardanymore. This record definitely has a wider path, it's broader, but it still sounds like a Whitey Morganrecord." With grandparents from Tennessee and Kentucky and hometown roots in Flint, Michigan,Morgan's family geography has factored into his approach to music.
A singer and songwriter whose slice-of-life tunes and rough, heartfelt delivery earned him a following in the Southwest, William Clark Green was born in Flint, Texas on May 19, 1986. When Green was 12, his family moved to College Station, Texas, and he began taking guitar lessons at church. Green's tastes then leaned to hard rock, but when his father played him Willis Alan Ramsey's classic 1972 debut album, the youngster became interested in the Texas singer/songwriter tradition.
Green immersed himself in the work of Robert Earl Keen, Jerry Jeff Walker, and Pat Green, and began writing songs of his own. He eventually enrolled in college after jobs as a ranch hand and working in a feedlot didn't work out for him. But he was more interested in music than academics, and it took him six years to complete his Agriculture Economics degree at Texas Tech. Green spent nearly as much time playing open mikes and acoustic gigs as he did studying, and by 2008 he was playing a weekly residency at the Blue Light in Lubbock. That same year, he released his debut album, "Dangerous Man."
The album "Misunderstood" followed in 2010, but it was 2013's "Rose Queen" that became Green's breakthrough. The album was a solid success in Texas, where the songs "She Likes the Beatles" and "It's About Time" earned significant airplay. The album eventually peaked at 34 on the U.S. Country Albums chart as Green's reputation grew beyond his home state.
In 2015, Green dropped his fourth album, "Ringling Road." "Sympathy," "Sticks and Stones," and the title tune were all radio hits in Texas, and the album sold even better than "Rose Queen," climbing to 18 on the U.S. Country Albums chart and going all the way to number one on the Heatseekers chart, a listing for new artists on the rise. Following the 2016 concert set 'Live at Gruene Hall,' Green returned in 2018 with "Hebert Island."
